Optimizing my computer

🇫🇷 Hier, j’étais un peu inquiète pour mon ordinateur, qui depuis quelques jours s’éteignait de manière inopinée, sans même un message d’erreur. Une surchauffe ? Un virus ? J’avais appliqué mon cleaner gratuit habituel, désinstallé quelques logiciels inutiles, mais il n’y avait pas vraiment d’amélioration. J’ai hésité à désinstaller et réinstaller Windows, mais je n’étais pas sûre de réussir à trouver ma clef de licence et je ne pouvais pas prendre le risque de bloquer mon outil de travail.

Sur ces entrefaites, mon anti-virus, Avaast me re-propose sa solution de nettoyage d’ordinateur. Et j’ai craqué, j’ai pris leur cleaner et leur gestionnaire de pilotes. J’ai passé 2h à effectuer tous les tests et les réglages, et je pense que le problème venait principalement du fait que 9 pilotes n’étaient pas à jour et que mon ordinateur n’était donc pas optimisé du tout. J’ai aussi identifié les logiciels qui tournaient en arrière plan et en ai interrompu la moitié. Bref, au final, ça m’a coûté 37€ pour 1 an d’abonnement à ces deux logiciels, mais j’ai vraiment l’impression que mon ordinateur va beaucoup mieux, ce qui est un vrai soulagement. Il ne chauffe pas pour rien et ne ventile plus comme un dingue juste en faisant tourner Evernote, Slack et Firefox.

🇺🇸 Yesterday, I was a little worried about my computer, which had been going out unexpectedly for a few days, without even an error message. Overheating? Virus ? I had applied my usual free cleaning app, uninstalled some useless software, but there was not much improvement. I was hesitant to uninstall and reinstall Windows, but I was not sure if I could find my license key. I could not take the risk of blocking my work tool.

At this stage, my anti-virus, Avaast re-propose its cleaning app to me. And this time I gave in, I took it plus their driver manager. I spent 2 hours runing all the tests and settings, and I think the main problem was the fact that 9 drivers were not up to date so my computer wasn’t optimized at all. I also identified the software running in the background and interrupted some of it. In short, in the end, it cost me € 37 for 1 year subscription, but I really feel that my computer is much better, which is a real relief. It does not heat up for nothing and does not fan like crazy just by running Evernote, Slack and Firefox.
